The Guille-Allès Library are inviting Guernsey school children to design a bookmark to promote the next Guernsey Literary Festival taking place from 10th-14th May 2017.

The competition which is kindly sponsored by Julius Baer.

Children can be inspired by authors who have spoken at previous festivals or by their favourite author or book. The winning designs will be created into bookmarks for the next Guernsey Literary Festival.  There will also be prizes up for grabs for the individual winners and their schools. The competition is open to children aged 5-18 years old.

FREE WORKSHOP ON 27TH OCTOBER AT THE GUILLE-ALLES LIBRARY

Children are invited to come along to a free workshop during half term on 27th October at the Guille-Allès Library from 11:00-12:00 to design their bookmark.

Local illustrator Hugh Rose will also be on hand to give his top tips on creating a winning bookmark.

THE PRIZES

There will be 4 categories for the prizes including:

  • Infants (Year 0-2)
  • Juniors (Years 3-6)
  • Year 7, 8 & 9
  • Year 10 and above – digital entries are encouraged!

The prize-winner in each category will receive a book bundle for the winner’s school. All four prize-winners will also receive a £25 National Book Token.

Entries should be returned to the Guille-Allès Library by 16th November 2016.
