MEET THE PILOTS AND COMPETITION

Standard

Meet the Pilots is a fantastic opportunity for children and their families to get up close and personal to the aircraft and their pilots which will be part of the 2018 Guernsey Air Display, taking place on Thursday 13th September. This year’s Air Display includes the Duxford Mustang, Jet Provost, Messerschmitt ME108, Pitts Special S1-S and of course the legendary Red Arrows and the majority (with the exception of the Red Arrows) will be at the Meet the Pilots on Wednesday 12th September.

Meet the Pilots is open from 2pm until 5pm and entry is free for children (£2 for adults). Car parking is available in a field in Mont Marche, Forest, and will be charged at £2 per car. All the money raised is going to the Guernsey Air Display.

To celebrate 100 years of the Royal Air Force, the Guernsey Air Display has teamed up with Ravenscroft, the sponsors of this year’s Meet the Pilots, to offer youngsters the chance of winning a £50 Amazon voucher. We’re looking for children to build a model which celebrates this very special birthday of the Royal Air Force. It could be a Red Arrow made of Lego (no Lego kits will be allowed) or a Spitfire made from cereal boxes. No matter what the size or what it’s made from, we want to see as many models lined up alongside the aircraft when they come to Guernsey Airport for the Meet the Pilots afternoon on Wednesday 12th September.

The winner of both the seven and under category and the eight and over category will each win a £50 Amazon voucher. Entries must be brought to Meet the Pilots at the ASG Hanger at Guernsey Airport by 4.15pm on Wednesday 12th and judging will take place at 4.30pm.
