Well done to the children in Year Three and Four who took part in the friendly tournament today.
The boys played some exciting football and scored some brilliant goals. They remained unbeaten throughout!
If you have a St Martins Primary School football kit please can you return it as soon as possible to Mrs Strange as it is needed for next week.
Many thanks.
A huge well done to the girls’ football team who won the tournament at Beau Sejour this afternoon.
A special mention goes to Clara and Tilly who were a superb sisterly duo, scoring 4 goals!
And Abi who made her debut today performing brilliantly in goal and defence.
Each player’s effort and commitment to every game was outstanding – we played the whole tournament with no substitutes- and their success was thoughrouly deserved.
Have a rest now girls!!
Assuming the weather improves, this tournament is still going ahead. All players who have already returned their permission slips need to bring their trainers, water bottle, shin pads, inhalers (if needed) and extra snack to school on Friday.
Players should meet Miss Strange in her room at break time where they will be given kit and transport arrangements will be finalised. Thank you to those parents who have said they can provide transport. We aim to leave school at 3 for a 3:30 start and the tournament ends at approximately 5:30.
Please contact me via email should you have any questions before Friday.
Many thanks
Miss Strange
Just a reminder that football club has now finished for the school year. The last session was last Friday 17th November.
Thank you for all of your effort each week and to parents who supported the team with matches etc.
Please can any outstanding kit be returned by the end of next week.
Thank you.
Miss Strange
Just a reminder that football club is cancelled this Friday due to an away fixture.
The next session will be on Friday 20th October.
Miss Strange
We are very fortunate to have been donated tickets to a Guernsey Football Club match this Saturday (14th October) at Footes Lane, with a 2pm kick off.
Children in years 5 & 6 who attend football club on a Friday have been offered the tickets today, however we still have plenty left!
Each ticket entitles one child and one adult into the game to sit in the Youth Zone of the stadium. The rest of the booklet gives you discounted entrance to future games and a £5 off voucher to spend on GFC merchandise.
If you would like to attend the match with your child, please email Miss Green (leah.green@stmartins.sch.gg) and tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Please be advised that as this is not a school event, there may not be a teacher present so all children need to be accompanied by an adult.
A team of Year 5 and 6 girls took part in a GFA 5 a side competition yesterday evening at Beau Sejour.
The girls did fantastically well, finishing a close second in their group, scoring a total of 13 goals in 4 matches! Hatricks from Marni de Freitas and Mali Smith as well as goals from Clara Hamilton, helped the team earn 4 – 0 then 5 -0 victories -the biggest wins in St Martin’s girls’ footballing history!
Our group place meant we faced a strong Norte Dame side in the semi final. Resolute defending from Ellie Mourant, Emilia Ozanne and Felicity Coupe as well as excellent saves from Martha Falla meant the game finished 1-1. The match was then decided by a ‘golden goal’. Unfortunately Norte Dame caught us on the break and got the goal. Leaving us in 3rd place overall.
Although they are disappointed not to win, the girls should be incredibly proud of their performance and determination this evening. We are now looking forward to the 7 aside tournament in a months time.
Miss Strange
Unfortunately, due to the weather afterschool football club has been cancelled as the pitch is waterlogged.
Please also note that there will be no football club for the rest of the Autumn Term due to poor light in the evenings.
Mr Eulenkamp
